Cowley Women's Soccer Earns Number Five Seed At NJCAA D1 Women's Soccer National Tournament
CHARLOTTE, NC – Winners of the 2025 NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer Plains District Tournament last Saturday, the Cowley College women’s soccer team has earned the number five overall seed in the upcoming 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer National Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma.
Holding an unbeaten 14-0-4 record, the Tigers were placed into Pool D alongside number four seed Iowa Western and number nine seed Tyler Junior College. All three teams in Pool D were NJCAA National Tournament qualifiers last year and earned automatic berths to this year’s tournament after the Reivers won the Central District Tournament, while the Apaches were South Central District Tournament champions to punch their ticket.
Of the 12 teams in this year’s National Tournament field, Cowley has faced off against just one team in number two seed Seminole State to open their 2025 season and played the Trojans to a 1-1 draw. In their third-straight NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer National Tournament, Cowley went 0-2 with defeats to National Champion Daytona State and Seminole State at last year’s tournament after winning Pool B by virtue of goal differential in 2023, before falling to eventual National Champion Iowa Western in the semifinal round.
As the number five seed, Cowley will not play on the opening day of the National Tournament and instead will be the final team out of the 12 to take the field when they face off against number nine seed Tyler Junior College at 5:30 PM on Monday, November 17th. The Tigers will then also get the honor of playing in the final match of pool play on Tuesday, November 18th, with a 5:30 PM matchup against number four seed Iowa Western.
The winner of each of the four pools will advance to the NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer Semifinals, with the top remaining seed taking on the lowest remaining seed while the middle two remaining seeds play each other in the other semifinal match. Semifinal round matchups will take place on Thursday, November 20th, with the winners of each semifinal match facing off in the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer National Championship Match on Saturday, November 22nd.
All pool play matches will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network, with the semifinals and finals being aired exclusively on ESPN+. Fans wanting to keep up with Cowley’s NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer National Tournament can do so at the following link: NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer National Tournament
