KJCCC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 1
COLBY, Kan. – Picking up a pair of event wins in her first collegiate meet, Garden City Community College freshman track athlete Meryeme Mai has been named the first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the 2025 season.

Mai opened up her indoor season with a time of 5:31.64 in the women's mile run and a time of 10:50.37 in the 3000 Meters to open the season for the Broncbusters at the Friends University First Chance Qualifier meet in Wichita, KS. Both times led to event wins for the freshman with the mile run three seconds faster than any other time in the meet and the 3,000-meter time nearly a minute faster than the second-place finisher.
