KJCCC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 5
COLBY, Kan. – Repeat award winners for the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors come this week by way of Colby Community College’s Anita Afrifa and Cowley College’s Cierra Gray for week five of the 2025 season.
Anita Afrifa (Colby) – KJCCC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Colby Community College's Anita Afrifa had a standout performance at the Steve Miller Invitational, winning the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.30 seconds and dominated the 200 meters with a time of 23.26 seconds. Her 200 meters time is now the second-fastest ever in NJCAA history while her 60 meters time was the third-fastest in NJCAA history and .01 off her personal-best time. The sophomore also broke the Ghanaian national record in the 200 meters and set a new Colby school record, beating her own previous best.
Cierra Gray (Cowley) – KJCCC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Gray set a new personal best mark in the shot put by recording a mark of 14.24 meters (46' 8.75") which ranks second all-time in Cowley history and is the fifth-best mark in the NJCAA this season.
