Shupping recorded his third consecutive victory of the season by besting the field at the Johnson County Community College “Cavalier Cup” last Friday. Shupping recorded previous victories at Wichita State University’s “J.K. Gold Classic” and Barton County’s “Harrier Invitational”. Shupping’s efforts, along with a solid core of team mates, have led the Thunderbirds to two team titles, a runner-up finish, and a Hill and Dale national ranking of #3.

Onesmus led the CCC men with a 2nd place finish at the Colby Community College Cross Country meet. He ran 18:28 for the 6k course averaging 4:57 per mile.

Daniel led the Cowley men to the team championship at the Friends Univ. Invitational held at Lake Afton in Goddard, KS. Daniel ran 4:33 for the first mile before settling in and averaging 5:02 for the remaining 4 miles of the men's 8,000 meter race. Maina, the six time NJCAA National Champion in indoor & outdoor track finished the race with a time of 24:43.

JCCC freshman James Tong of Kansas City, Mo., raced to a runner-up finish at the JCCC Cavalier Cup, completing the 5k course in 15:29.00, one of fastest times by a Cavalier in the history of the event. This is Tong's second straight top-five finish in as many starts.
