Connor Goedert opened the 2014 season with a bang, hitting .625 while slugging 1.438 over the Panthers 6 games last week. Goedert drove in 16 runs to help the Panthers to a 5-1 week that included a 3-1 series win over visiting Iowa Central. Goedert blasted 4 homeruns during the opening week with the biggest coming in the final game. With the Panthers and Tritons knotted in a 0-0 tie in the 5th inning Goedert crushed a 3-2 pitch for what proved to be the game winning homerun.  Weekly Statistics

Freshman Justin Hersch made the most of his return to his home state of Colorado by firing a no-hitter in helping Barton Community College to a 10-0 victory over Western Nebraska Community College Sunday in La Junta, Colorado.  The left-hander from Fort Collins faced the minimum in getting five strikeouts and inducing a double-play to erase his lone walk on the day and improve to 2-0 on the season .  Weekly Statistics
