Sophomore right-handed pitcher Kyle Simonds was dominant in defeating Seward County in the series opener of this past weekend�s Jayhawk Conference series. Simonds needed just 62 pitches to twirl a two-hit shutout of the powerful Saints. Simonds struck out eight en route to running his record to 6-0 and dropping his ERA to 1.84. After giving up a 1-out double in the fourth inning, Simonds retired the final 11 Saints he faced.
