#7 Trojans defeated the Beavers in straight sets on Wednesday night

PRATT, Kan.- Colby Community College traveled to Pratt to take on the Beavers and won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-13, and 25-11. The No. 7 Trojans improved to 10-1 on the year and led the conference with a perfect 3-0 record in the KJCCC. Colby took control of the match early on and continued to control the tempo throughout the third set. Colby will return to the Colby Event Center on Friday for their Classic as they host Iowa Western Community College, Otero College, and Lamar Community College.
Colby Community College had an impressive attacking performance, with a hitting percentage of .311. Celia Mbaya led the team with 14 kills, while Viola Giangreco and Karlotta Kattai added 11 kills each. Amanda Caputi contributed 35 assists to help set up her teammates for success.
Defensively, Colby Community College was led by Camila Canedo with 21 digs, while Mbaya and Kattai also had strong performances at the net with a total of 14 blocks between them.
The Trojans will have three matches over the weekend in a non-conference classic with their first match on Friday at 6 pm CT against Otero College.
