Limo leads Barton Men’s Cross County to 6th place at Terry Masterson Twilight Classic.
The Barton Community College men's cross-country team opened the 2024 season Friday evening participating in the annual Terry Masterson Twilight Classic held at Hutchinson's Fun Valley.
Eight Cougars participated in the 4-mile race, placing 6th overall within the twelve scoring teams in the 91-competitor field.
Freshman Lel Limo led the Cougars with a 10th place finish crossing in 20:38.01 for a program 5th best 4-mile clocking and the fastest time recorded by a Barton runner at the event.
A trio of Cougars crossed within eight seconds of one another, 46th Corlando Chambers leading the way in 46th at 24:06.81 followed by Lisbon Kiprono three seconds later in 4th at 24:10.10 and Gabriel Carty in 49th at 24:14.71.
Simeon Adams was the fourth Cougar to cross in 57th (24:40.73) with Korbin Woods 61st (25:01.32), Jasiah Clapp in 74th (26:41.80), and Jack Cole rounding out the Barton entries in 75th overall (26:43.08).
Following a two week break the Cougars will be back in action February 13th at the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open.
