Men's Basketball won over Otero College JV on Wednesday in their home opener, 92-56. The game got out to a fast start with the Mavericks leading by 10 points only five minutes in.
Taiden Conner led the way in the first half, scoring 11 points, with Arthur Celestin leading in rebounds with six. The half ended with the Mavs up by 21 points.
The second half was no different, with the Mavs' largest lead extending out to 43 points around the midway point. They ultimately finished the game with a 36-point advantage, outperforming Otero in virtually every statistical category.
"I felt that we came out and handled business," said Coach Bradley. "It's always good to start the year out on a high. Credit the young men for coming out and showing a sense of urgency and focus to take care of the things we discussed in practice. I would like to see us take care of the ball better and communicate better throughout the game. We did a good enough job to go 1-0, and that's what matters most."
Men's Basketball will return to play on Tuesday, November 7th, at Northeastern Junior College.
