The Colby Trojans moved to 2-2 on the year after a 105-88 loss to the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen Monday night at the Colby Event Center.
A red-hot shooting NJC made 75% of their three-pointers in the first half and 55% overall to jump out to a 53-42 halftime lead. They got better in the second half, finishing the game 9-15 behind the arc (60%) and 43-73 (59%) overall.
Northeastern, now 4-1 on the season, had 10 players who scored and got 40 points off the bench. They were led by Shaun Riley's 24, Keynion Clark's 19, and Kobe Greene with 17.
The Trojans had four in double figures. Joshua O'Garro paced the team with 27, Elijah Wood added 20, Jaxon Pillich with 18, and Mike Bell tallied 12.
The Trojans are in Goodland this weekend for the Northwest Kansas Technical College Classic at the Max Jones Fieldhouse. They face McCook Community College on Friday at 6 p.m. and Strength in Motion Saturday at 1 p.m.
