
The co-conference champion Greyhounds defeated Hesston College 81-70 on Monday evening in the first round of the Region VI tournament. The victory was the third against the Larks during the 2021 season.
Hesston College played tough all game shooting 43% from the field and out-rebounding the Hounds 38-32. The game was up for grabs until late in the second half when the Hounds finally pulled away. Leading the way for FSCC was sophomore Kelyn Bolton who scored 18 points, collected 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Justus Mouton, Steve Fontenette, and Gavin Coone all pitched in with 11 points as the Hounds shot a combined 43% from the field.
Juwuan Clifton led the Larks with 27 points on 11/24 shooting and 9 rebounds.
The Hounds will now travel to Johnson County Community College on Wednesday at 7:30pm. The Hounds and Cavs split the season series and ended up co-conference champions for the season.
