Men's Basketball won over Otero Junior College JV Monday night, 112-43, a much-needed win after a rough stretch of conference road games.
The Mavericks got out to a slow start, with Otero JV leading the game 5-1 with 18:30 left in the half. However, it didn't take long for Tech to get going, taking control of the game with a 21-2 run, getting many easy points off turnovers and in transition. Northwest Tech would end the half with a score of 57-22.
The second half was quite similar to the first, with Kyle Jones leading the way for the Mavericks as he put up a season-high 30 points, with 85.7% (6-7) shooting from the 3-point line and 78.6% (11-14) from the field. Overall, Tech shot 55.6% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc, while accumulating 41 of their points off of turnovers.
Men's Basketball return to competiton on January 3rd at Dodge City Community College.
