
Broncbuster offense struggles in game-four loss to Hutch
Garden City, KS-Garden City's offense struggled again.
Josh Oller's team was held to just two hits, Cody Gunderson and Jordan Tucker each went deep, and Hutchinson completed a four-game sweep of the Broncbusters with a 12-1 victory on Saturday afternoon at Williams Stadium.
The loss dropped Garden City to 2-19 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Broncbuster starter, Matthew Lorencz fell to 0-4 on the bump, allowing five earned runs on five hits in four innings of work.
On the other side, Bradley Neill improved to 2-0, pitching five masterful innings while allowing only one hit and striking out six.
Hutchinson, which improved to 16-4 overall and 4-0 in the Jayhawk, broke the game open with a three-run second highlighted by Tucker's second homer of the day: a two-run bomb to center.
After the Blue Dragons touched Lorencz up for two more runs in the fourth, Gunderson hit a two-run homer in the fifth.
Garden City, which was outscored 45-3 during the series, was limited to just 16 hits in four games.
