Colby sweeps North Platte on Sunday

COLBY, Kan. - The Colby Trojans defeated Northeastern Junior College in three straight wins on Sunday, March 23. The Trojans improved to 22-13 overall and 3-9 in KJCCC play. Colby softball is set to play their next match on Wednesday, March 26, at Garden City Community College.

Game 1

March 23, 2025, Colby, KS—The Colby Trojans secured a narrow 5-4 victory over Northeastern Junior College in a closely contested matchup, showcasing resilience and strategic play. Both teams put up a strong fight, with Colby ultimately clinching the win in the final inning.

The game remained scoreless through the first two innings, with both teams demonstrating solid defensive skills. In the third inning, Northeastern Junior College broke the deadlock, scoring two runs. The Trojans responded swiftly, reducing the deficit with a run in the bottom of the third.

Both teams exchanged runs in the fourth and fifth innings, with Northeastern Junior College maintaining a slight edge at 4-3. Colby's B. Christens and S. Valenti each hit doubles, helping their team stay competitive.

In the final inning, the Trojans capitalized on Northeastern's fielding errors, scoring two decisive runs to seal their victory. T. Mein's home run was a standout moment, and P.
