Bradley Feezer was no exception on Friday.
The transfer from Barton County was lights out, striking out six in four innings of work, Sean Togher and Mason Tafoya each went deep, and Garden City improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2019 with a 13-2 run-rule victory over Lamar on Friday.
Karson Evans scored three times and collected three hits for the Broncbusters. Sean Philpotts went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
The Broncbusters wasted no time chasing Lamar starter, Adan Young after just one inning. Following Roy Higinbotham's two-run double in the first, Togher smacked a two-run bomb to right to make it 4-0. Moments later, Philpotts smoked an RBI single, and Evans scored on an error to give Garden City a seven-run lead.
In the second, Evans and Akoi Burton each smacked run-scoring extra base hits to make it 10-0. Tafoya then homered in the fourth/
For Feezer, who originally committed to Nebraska after his sophomore year in high school before ultimately going the Junior College route, worked a one-two-three first before surrendering a two-out, unearned run in the second. The following inning, the sophomore got out of a two-on, two-out jam by striking out Kyle Cordo. He was perfect in the fourth.
