EL DORADO, Kan. - On Wednesday night, the Trojan women's basketball team fell 69-35 in their Jayhawk conference game at Butler Community College. First-half turnovers proved to be the difference, resulting in 15 first-half points off those turnovers. Offensively, the Trojans could never get on track as the unforced turnovers never allowed a flow.
Defensively, the Trojans were solid again, but with the live ball turnovers taking place the Trojans weren't allowed to get the defense set in the first half.
"It's hard to play and get your offensive flow going when you have live ball turnovers leading to points at the other end. It's a bit frustrating to have seen it happen now in another tough road game. We have to step our game up and give ourselves a legitimate chance in the game. The road games haven't been kind to us, but then again we have played at Hutch, Garden City and Butler which are three of the top teams in the league. We have to take a step forward and be better in these road games, regardless of where it is and who we play. We have another test at Pratt on Saturday afternoon and we need to figure it out. To play for something special in a season, you have to be able to compete well on the road. Learn and grow from here. " stated Coach Spence.
