The Colby Community College women's basketball team fell behind early and never recovered in an 85-37 loss at the hands of the Cloud County T-Birds Saturday at the Colby Community Building.
Colby trailed 22-9 at the end of first quarter and was outscored 24-3 in the second to face a 46-12 halftime deficit. The Lady Trojans held serve with Cloud in the third quarter with each team scoring 20 but again were outscored 19-5 in the fourth.
Ten points from Meona Leonard led the scoring for Colby, now 3-8 overall and 1-6 in the Jayhawk Conference. Tierra Itula added nine points and five rebounds.
Cloud County (9-1, 6-1) was led by freshman Scout Frame, posting 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals.
The Lady Trojans visit Pratt Community College Wednesday for a 6 p.m. tip against the Beavers (1-9, 0-7).
