COLBY, Kan. - The Colby Community College volleyball program defeated Butler Community College in straight sets 3-0 on Wednesday, October 9th. The eight-ranked Trojans won with scores 25-14, 25-11, and 25-13. With the victory the Trojans are now 19-2 overall and second in the KJCCC with a 9-1 record. The Trojans will travel to Great Bend on Wednesday, October 16th to take on the fifth-ranked Barton Community College.
Colby Community College dominated the match, showcasing a strong offensive performance with 40 kills and a hitting percentage of .444. Karlotta Kattai led the team with 16 kills, followed by Celia Mbaya with 10 kills. Amanda Caputi contributed significantly with 35 assists, while Chiara Binda and Karlotta Kattai stood out on the serving end with 13 service aces between them.
This tallied the fifth straight win for the Trojans against the Grizzlies. Colby remains eighth in the NJCAA in the latest Division 1 Volleyball poll. Their next opponent will be the Barton Cougars in Great Bend, Kansas on October 16th at 6:30 pm CT. This event will be pay-per-view to watch the live stream.
