#8 Colby defeated #5 Barton in Great Bend
GREAT BEND, Kan. - The Colby Community College volleyball team defeated nationally ranked fifth Barton Community College 3-1 on Wednesday, October 16th.
GREAT BEND, Kan. - The Colby Community College volleyball team defeated nationally ranked fifth Barton Community College 3-1 on Wednesday, October 16th. The eight-ranked Trojans started with a close first set, falling 25-19 to Barton. However, they quickly returned in the following sets to dominate the rest of the game, winning 27-25, 25-22, and 26-24 to claim the match victory. The Trojans are now 20-2 overall record and tied for first in the KJCCC with a 10-1 conference record. Colby will take on Seward County on Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:30 PM CT in the Colby Event Center.
Colby Community College quickly dominated the match after losing a close first set with 66 kills. Karlotta Kattai led the team with 21 kills, followed by Viola Giangreco with 16 kills. Amanda Caputi played a key role with 53 assists, while Camila Canedo and Boglarka Kiss stood out defensively with a combined total of 31 digs.
Colby will return to the Event Center on October 23 at 6:30 pm CT to take on the Saints from Seward County.
