Colby falls in the Region VI Championship to Barton

GREAT BEND, Kan. - The No. 10 Trojans fell to No. 7 Barton Community College 3-0 in the Region VI/ Plains District Championship match. Colby battled throughout the first two sets but fell short in the third set with the final set scores of 25-21, 26-24, and 25-16.

Colby was led offensively by Alexandra Workman and Karlotta Kattai contributing 10 kills each. In the Trojans 5-1 rotation Amanda Caputi had 27 assists and 10 digs for a double-double in the match. Camila Canedo had a team-high of 13 digs in the match.

Colby falls to an overall record of 26-4 and will await the decision from the NJCAA National Voting Committee. The Trojans have a case for one of the four at-large bids for the NJCAA National Tournament with three of their four losses coming against teams ranked in the top seven of the NJCAA. 

The NJCAA bracket reveal ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 13th at noon CT. The NJCAA National Tournament will be held in Clarksville, Tennessee starting on November 20th, 2024.
