CONCORDIA, Kan. - The Colby Community College Trojans women's basketball team traveled to Cloud County for an important Jayhawk conference road game. The Trojans fell 58-48 to the Thunderbirds and are now 13-10 overall and 8-9 in the KJCCC. Colby and Cloud were tied in the standings, working for a higher conference standing and that important home playoff game.
The Trojans got off to a sluggish start with early turnovers that sometimes saw the offense sputter. A good defensive effort kept the game back and forth while the offense got going.
The second half was also back and forth, with neither team able to pull away. Ultimately, the Trojans played the foul game, and Cloud made free throws to secure the win.
The Trojans return to action for another big game Saturday at Cowley.
