COLBY, Kan. - The Colby Trojans women's basketball team handled job one with a home win over the Sterling College JV 88-43 on Saturday, November 2nd.
An enthusiastic start in the first quarter saw the Trojans build a big lead with stifling defense and never looked back. In the second quarter, the teams traded baskets as the Trojans were able to use several player combinations and dip in to the bench.
The third quarter saw the Trojans get right back to business on the defensive and off the races in transition offense to build the lead back up. The fourth quarter was much the same as the Trojans moved thr ball well on offense and got out and ran in transition all due to the efforts on the defensive end.
"It was a good way to start the season and build confidence for our new and younger players. I thought our defensive effort was high level for as early as it is in the season. Our offense will continue to grow and develop as we gain more experience with each other. One down and 29 more to go before the region tournament. Moving on." Stated Coach Spence.
Next up for the Trojans will be a road trip to Lamar Community College in Colorado on Tuesday; November 5.
