Wichita, KS-Garden City was that close to another statement win.
Charlie Prtenjaca allowed the game-tying goal in the final 60 seconds as Garden City tied Kansas City, 3-3 on Saturday afternoon.
This was another disappointing finish for the Broncbusters as they dropped to 5-3-4 overall and 0-3-3 in conference play.
Garden City struck first 20 minutes into the match when Noel Williamson scored off a deflected shot in the box. Later in the half, Williams sent a cross into the box where Dinis Ribeiro finished with a boot into the right corner of the net. The Broncbusters were up 2-0 at the intermission.
But after limiting the Blue Devils to just three shots in the first half, Garden City was on the defensive the entire second period. Jacob Thomas got Kansas City on the board in the 59th minute to slice the lead in half. After William Jackson deposited a shot in the bottom left corner in the 79th minute to give Garden City a 3-1 edge, the Blue Devils scored twice over the final nine minutes. Ajay Stewart made it a one-goal game in the 81stminute, and Geoffroy Letienne tied the match with less than 60 seconds to play.
Kansas City outshot the Broncbusters, 13-11. Prtenjaca had five saves.
