Garden City, KS-Butler wasted no time in game two.
The Grizzlies collected 15 hits, Frank Garcia homered, and Butler beat Garden City, 20-6 in seven innings at Williams Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Dayton Pelfrey picked up the win in relief, striking out three in 1 1/3 innings. Starter, Jack Laird walked seven in 3 2/3, allowing four runs on four hits.
Garden City starter, Matthew Lorencz lasted only 2/3 of an inning, giving up six runs on three hits. He dropped to 0-5 on the season.
Butler began the offensive explosion with a six-run first, fueled by Charlie Marcantel's two-run single.
After the Broncbusters answered with three in the bottom half, Butler scored three in the second, four in the third, and four in the fourth, including Garcia's two-run homer that gave the visitors a 16-3 advantage.
The Grizzlies, which improved to 15-11 overall and 7-3 in league play, scored 20 runs on 15 hits. CJ Reid, who homered in game one, finished 3-for-4 with four RBI, and Micah Kobuszewski went 4-for-4 with two runs batted in.
Grant Ryan and Nick Barber were the lone Broncbusters with multi-hit games as Garden City fell to 2-21 overall and 0-6 in the Jayhawk. They collected just seven hits as a team.
