COLBY, Kan. - Colby Community College defeated Coffeyville Community College on Wednesday night 72-69.
Colby led out the gate 4-0. A late Coffeyville run in the first half propelled them to an 11-point lead of 35-24.
Colby started the second half off hot from 3, with Marko Malekinusic hitting 3 threes, thus taking the lead at the 16:10 mark by one with a score of 45-44. Colby didn't stop there, went on a big run, and outscored Coffeyville in the second half 48-34.
Leading scorers for the Trojans were Maxence Massadila with 25 points, Marko Malekinusic with 17, and D'Necco Rucker with 12.
Colby is back in action this Saturday at Barton CC starting at 4 pm CT.
