In a game of surges, the Colby Trojans fell to Seward Community College 99-87 on Nov. 22 at the Colby Event Center.
A wild first half saw Seward, now 5-1 and 2-1 in the Jayhawk Conference, jump out to a 17-point advantage, only for Colby to come storming back for a 38-37 lead. The teams went back and forth the rest of the half, with Seward taking a 41-40 lead into the locker room.
A 36-point blur of scoring in the first 10 minutes of the second half allowed the Saints to regain the 17-point lead, and they held on for the win.
Kole Scott led Seward with 21 points, and Niko Smith poured in 20.
Josh O'Garro's 25 points led the Trojans, who drop to 4-5 and 1-2 in conference play. Mike Bell added 20, while Elijah Wood chipped in 19, each making three 3-pointers.
