Colby takes down Seward County 73-67 in OT

COLBY, Kan. - Colby Community College defeated Seward County Community College 73-67 in overtime at the Colby Event Center on Wednesday evening. This was the first win for Colby over Seward County since the 2008 - 2009 season. Our Trojans women's basketball team turned in a tough performance tonight and beat Seward in overtime. From start to finish, the Trojans competed at a high level and found ways to get it done.  

Offensive execution and aggressive attacks resulted in free throws in the second half.  A sub-par free throw shooting percentage allowed the visitors to tie the game and send it to overtime.  In the overtime, the Trojans found ways to secure the win.  

"Seward is a very scrappy and aggressive team who play at a high level and force opponents to make plays all night long.  I'm happy for our players for this win," added Coach Spence.   

Colby will travel to Coffeyville to take on the Red Ravens this Saturday at 2 pm CT.
