What a weekend it was for Seward County sophomore
Stephanie Mark in the Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth on
Friday and Saturday. Friday, she was 1 for 3 with a
double and 2 RBI�s in a 7-5 loss to Lamar State-Port
Arthur and in Seward�s second game of the day she was 1
for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI�s as the Lady Saints got
past El Paso 8-5. On Saturday she was 2 for 4 with a
home run and 3 RBI�s in a 10-4 win over Eastern Oklahoma
State and in the final game of the weekend she was 2 for
2 with a double, her third home run in as many games,
and had 3 RBI�s as Seward fell to North Central Texas
11-3. On the weekend she hit .462 and slugged 1.307 in
four games while homering three times and driving in 10
runs.

Conley had a big week for the Lady Pirates as she went
9-for-19 with two home runs and seven RBI�s. Conley also
scored five runs and stole a pair of bases. The
sophomore from Paris, Texas accounted for 12 of
Independence�s 27 runs scored on the week.

Sophomore transfer Maggie Ham recorded 17 of 18 outs via
strikeout in a dominating performance against Northern
Oklahoma-Tonkawa in Butler�s home opener. The only out
that wasn�t a strikeout was a bouncer back to the
pitcher. Maggie now has 61 strikeouts in 30 innings of
work and is 5-0 on the season for the Grizzlies, who are
11-0 as a team.

Stubblefield saw action in three of Independence�s six
games last week. The sophomore pitched into the seventh
inning in all three of her starts and allowed only three
earned runs in seven innings of relief. She struck out
20 batters and walked just three in 27 1/3 innings
pitched as she went 2-2 on the week.
