Freshman first baseman Joselyn Dean had at least one hit in all five games this weekend as #6 Butler went undefeated in Longview, Texas including a pair of wins over fellow nationally-ranked teams. Dean went 9-15 (.600) at the plate with a pair of doubles and drove in eight runs in the five games. She had multiple hits in each of Butler�s games against ranked teams. She drew four walks, stole a base and scored four runs on the weekend.  Weekly Stats

Ashleigh Hinshaw had a near perfect stat line in a doubleheader sweep of Hesston as she went 6-for-8 with five doubles, four runs scored and eight runs batted in. The freshman third baseman has helped Independence win 12 of its first 16 games. Weekly Stats

Sydnee Eck went 3-0 including wins over a pair of nationally-ranked teams as the #6 Butler softball team won all five games this weekend in Longview, Texas. She threw complete games against #7 Galveston and #13 Navarro, allowing just one earned run in each game. She then finished the tournament with a complete-game shutout win over Kilgore, allowing just one hit. For the weekend, she struck out 15 batters in 17 innings.  Weekly Stats

Laura Wilson came within one hit of tossing a no-hitter in a 24-0 Lady Pirate win over Hesston on Feb. 27. Wilson struck out six and walked only two as she was named Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.  Weekly Stats
