KJCCC Leads All NJCAA D1 Football Conferences With 7 First-Team All-Americans, 16 Total Earn All-America Status
CHARLOTTE, NC – With four teams finishing the year ranked in the final NJCAA Division 1 Football Poll of the season and home of the 2024 NJCAA Division 1 Football National Champions Hutchinson Community College, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference added to their list of accolades from the 2024 NJCAA Football season as 16 players from the seven football member playing schools were named NJCAA Football All-Americans on Monday, December 23rd.
Among the list of 16 All-Americans is seven NJCAA Division 1 Football First-Team All-American selections, the most among any NJCAA D1 football conference this season with the 16 selections the second most among any NJCAA Football conference this year.
First-team selections for the KJCCC were led by JUCOWeekly Trophy winner and NJCAA Division 1 Football Offensive Player of the Year award winner Waymond Jordan Jr. as the Hutchinson running back was joined by Coffeyville tight end Brec Long and Garden City offensive lineman Cameron Todd as first-team offensive selections. On the defensive side, KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Year Seven Cloud was among three selections from the conference along with defensive lineman Marshon Oxley (Hutchinson) and Dodge City defensive back Sam Brooks while Butler's Da'Realyst Clark was selected as NJCAA First-Team All-American as a return specialist.
The conference added NJCAA Second-Team All-American selections Kaliem Crowell (Garden City – offensive line) and Armoni Rue (Highland – defensive back) while Honorable Mention All-American honors were bestowed upon Samari Collier (Hutchinson – quarterback), DeJuan Lacy (Garden City – running back), Dariyonne Bryant (Highland – wide receiver), Bubba Craig (Hutchinson – offensive line), Jeremiah Young (Independence – defensive line), Landon Boss (Butler – linebacker), and JaQuel Mack (Hutchinson – linebacker).
Among KJCCC schools, Hutchinson led all teams with five All-American selections including two first-team honorees while Garden City and Butler each had three selections with Highland having two All-Americans and Coffeyville, Dodge City, and Independence with one All-American each.
