Hutchinson's Waymond Jordan Jr. Named NJCAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – Closing in on the NJCAA Division 1 Football rushing title and one of just four players this season to eclipse the 1,000 rushing yard mark, Hutchinson Community College football player Waymond Jordan Jr. has been named NJCAA Division 1 Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Waymond Jordan Jr. had his first career 200-yard rushing game and the nation's leading rusher surpassed 1,000 yards for the season in a 44-0 win by the number three Blue Dragons over Highland. Jordan rushed for a career-high 213 yards on 23 carries with three touchdowns of 8, 15, and 67 yards. He now has 18 rushing touchdowns and 1,190 yards for the season. With his 41-yard run in the first quarter, Jordan became the 20th Blue Dragon in team history to surpass 1,000 yards in a season.
Through nine games this season, Jordan Jr. is averaging 133.0 yards per game and has 17 rushing touchdowns while currently holding an 84-yard lead over D’mariun Perteet of Northwest Mississippi Community College heading into the final full weekend of the 2024 regular season as no other player has eclipsed the 1,100-yard mark.
