KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 10
COLBY, Kan. – A repeat Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week award winner along with a pair of first-time winners for Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week highlight the week 10 awards with Dejuan Lacy (Garden City), Loren Hall (Coffeyville), and Da’Realyst Clark (Butler) each earning this week’s honors.
COLBY, Kan. – A repeat Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week award winner along with a pair of first-time winners for Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week highlight the week 10 awards with Dejuan Lacy (Garden City), Loren Hall (Coffeyville), and Da’Realyst Clark (Butler) each earning this week’s honors.
Offensive Player of the Week (Dejuan Lacy – Garden City) - Lacy had a career day on Saturday against Highland, rushing eight times for 133 yards and three touchdowns as Garden City downed Highland 48-21 in KJCCC play. The freshman had a 60-yard scamper to open the scoring in the game as the Broncbusters scored the first 48 points of the game with Lacy scoring three of the first four touchdowns for GCCC. Lacy now ranks fifth in the NJCAA with 97.8 rushing yards per game and 12 rushing touchdowns in nine games this season.
Defensive Player of the Week (Loren Hall - Coffeyville) – Red Raven freshman defensive back Loren Hall had an outstanding game for Coffeyville as the number 13 Red Ravens defeated number 15 Dodge City 13-12. Hall had a total of 8 tackles and a forced fumble in the game, but his biggest play came on the last play of the contest as Dodge City lined up to attempt a 29-yard field goal that Hall raced in and blocked to secure the one-point victory for the Red Ravens.
Special Teams Player of the Week (Da’Realyst Clark - Butler) – Clark scored the Grizzlies only points in a 48-7 loss at number one Iowa Western Iowa Western as late in the first quarter he took a Reiver kickoff back for a 94-yard touchdown. It was Clark's second return touchdown of the season as he had a punt return touchdown at Ellsworth in week two.
