KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 11
COLBY, Kan. – With the regular season beginning to wind down and just one full week of games still left on the schedule, Waymond Jordan Jr. (Hutchinson), Marquis Lane-Owens (Coffeyville), and Tanner Rinker (Garden City) are the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Players of the Week for Week 11 of the 2024 season.
COLBY, Kan. – With the regular season beginning to wind down and just one full week of games still left on the schedule, Waymond Jordan Jr. (Hutchinson), Marquis Lane-Owens (Coffeyville), and Tanner Rinker (Garden City) are the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Players of the Week for Week 11 of the 2024 season.
Offensive Player of the Week (Waymond Jordan Jr. - Hutchinson) - Waymond Jordan Jr. had his first career 200-yard rushing game and the nation's leading rusher surpassed 1,000 yards for the season in a 44-0 win by the number three Blue Dragons over Highland. Jordan rushed for a career-high 213 yards on 23 carries with three touchdowns of 8, 15, and 67 yards. He now has 18 rushing touchdowns and 1,190 yards for the season. With his 41-yard run in the first quarter, Jordan became the 20th Blue Dragon in team history to surpass 1,000 yards in a season.
Defensive Player of the Week (Marquis Lane-Owens - Coffeyville) – Red Raven freshman linebacker Marquis Lane-Owens had a big day for Coffeyville's defense with 5 tackles (3 for loss), an interception, and a forced fumble in the Ravens 24-7 defeat of Independence.
Special Teams Player of the Week (Tanner Rinker – Garden City) – Tanner Rinker was perfect on the day hitting 3 of 3 field goals of 35, 42, and a long of 45 to go along with a perfect 4 of 4 on extra points and 3 touchbacks in nine kickoffs.
