KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 5
COLBY, Kan. – A four-touchdown day, 14 tackle performance, and seven-point kicking performance have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Player of the Week honors for Hutchinson’s Waymond Jordan Jr., Butler’s Landon Boss, and Dodge City’s Emanuel Aguilar.
COLBY, Kan. – A four-touchdown day, 14 tackle performance, and seven-point kicking performance have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Player of the Week honors for Hutchinson’s Waymond Jordan Jr., Butler’s Landon Boss, and Dodge City’s Emanuel Aguilar.
Offensive Player of the Week (Waymond Jordan Jr. - Hutchinson) - Hutchinson sophomore running back Waymond Jordan Jr. touched the ball only nine times Saturday and scored a career-high four touchdowns to lead the No. 1 Blue Dragons to tying a national scoring record in a 99-0 win over Ellsworth on Saturday. Jordan had nine carries for 175 yards and touchdown runs of 18, 53, 34, and 25 yards. He averaged 19.4 yards per carry for his third 100-yard rushing game of the season. Jordan became the first Blue Dragon with four rushing touchdowns since Tyrell Reed Jr. in 2023 against Dodge City.
Defensive Player of the Week (Landon Boss - Butler) – Grizzly linebacker Landon Boss helped the Butler defense hold number three ranked Snow College to a season-low 341 total yards and a season-low 21 points in a 21-14 loss as part of the ESPN+ NJCAA Football Game of the Week this past Saturday. Boss tallied a career-high 14 total tackles as well as a sack, tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry.
Special Teams Player of the Week (Emanuel Aguilar) – Dodge City football team came back from a 21-0 deficit to beat Iowa Central 25-24 picking up third win of the season. Conquistadors scoring started in the second quarter with a 24-yard field goal by Emanuel Aguilar as the sophomore added a 32-yard field goal later in the contest. He also averaged 63.2 yards on kickoffs with six kickoffs in the contest as three went for touchback.
