COLBY, Kan. – A pair of road victories for Coffeyville Community College and Hutchinson Community College were led by this week’s Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Players of the Week with Red Raven tight end Brec Long, linebacker Marquis Lane-Owens and Blue Dragon return specialist Kordell Gouldsby each earn Week 7 honors.  

Offensive Player of the Week (Brec Long - Coffeyville) - Red Raven sophomore TE Brec Long turbo-charged Coffeyville's offense as the #14 Red Ravens defeated Iowa Central 31-20. Long hauled in 3 TD passes (51 yds, 56 yds, & 17 yds) to end his day with 3 receptions for 124 yards and 3 TDs. Long's 124 receiving yards was the first 100-yard receiving game for the Ravens since October 23, 2021.

Defensive Player of the Week (Marquis Lane-Owens - Coffeyville) – Coffeyville red-shirt freshman linebacker Marquis Lane-Owens had a game for Coffeyville's defense as he recorded 11 total tackles (6 solo, 5 assisted) with 1 sack and 3 tackles for loss in the 31-20 defeat of Iowa Central. Lane-Owens is currently ranked 2nd in the KJCCC with 9 tackles per game.

Special Teams Player of the Week (Kordell Gouldsby – Hutchinson) – Blue Dragon return specialist Kordell Gouldsby played a huge role in the No. 1 Blue Dragons' 48-7 victory over Independence, accounting for 231 all-purpose yards, which is the seventh most all-purpose yards in Blue Dragon single-game history. Gouldsby had eight punt returns for 148 yards, including a 50-yard return for a touchdown in the third quarter. Gouldsby also had 83 yards on two Independence kickoffs.
