NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 10 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – After seeing an unchanged top 10 last week, a massive shakeup to the latest NJCAA Division 1 Football top 15 poll sees no team hold the same ranking as last week including the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference which has four teams ranked in the week 10 poll released on Monday, October 28th.
As part of the shakeup, three of last week’s top four teams all fell leading to changes throughout the poll including a new number one team after seeing KJCCC school Hutchinson drop their first regular season game in over two years as their 32-game regular season and 20-game KJCCC winning streak was snapped at home with a 27-22 defeat to Butler. The Blue Dragons remain the highest ranked team from the KJCCC by coming in at number three in this week’s poll behind Iowa Western Community College and Georgia Military College as HCC was the final team to suffer defeat this year among the 41 teams in NJCAA Division 1 football.
The next highest ranked team from the KJCCC is Butler who moves up three spots into the top 10 after taking over the top spot in the KJCCC standings as the only team left unbeaten in conference play at 4-0 with two conference games remaining. Coffeyville is ranked number 13, a two-spot improvement from last week after having little issue with Ellsworth on the road in a 72-7 win over the Panthers while Dodge City outlasted Independence 23-20 at home to move from those receiving votes up to 15th in this week’s poll.
With the calendar flipping to November and the final month of the regular season, four games will take place this weekend including a pair of KJCCC clashes as Hutchinson will be the only team not in action this coming weekend across the conference. In conference matchups, Highland will return from their bye week with a long trip southwest to Garden City for an 11 AM matchup at Broncbuster Stadium while number 15 Dodge City will take on number 13 Coffeyville in a ranked 1 PM matchup at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville. A week after taking down previous number one Hutchinson on the road, Butler will look for lightning to strike twice in as many weeks with the Grizzlies heading to Council Bluffs, Iowa for a 1 PM matchup with number one Iowa Western while Independence will host the ESPN+ NJCAA Football Game of the Week when the Pirates welcome Independence to Emmot Field for a 1 PM kickoff in Independence.
