NJCAA Division 1 Football Week 11 Rankings
CHARLOTTE, NC – With just three weeks left in the regular season, the NJCAA Division 1 Football poll is starting to settle with an unchanged top five and four teams from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference ranked in the week 11 rendition released on Monday, November 4th.
Hutchinson remains the highest-ranked team from the conference by holding the number three ranking after their second and final bye week of the season last week as the Blue Dragons will play each of the next two weeks to conclude their regular season with both games coming against conference foes with HCC hoping to solidify a spot in the NJCAA Football Playoffs. HCC is ranked only behind top-ranked Iowa Western who took care of previously number 10 Butler 48-7 last week and number two ranked Georgia Military as the top three all have one loss with two of the three losses coming against one another (Iowa Western defeated Georgia Military, Hutchinson defeated Iowa Western). Moving up three spots following a 13-12 home win over Dodge City is Coffeyville as the Red Ravens are into the top 10 by coming in at number 10 this week ahead of the Montgomery County Cup against Independence this weekend before getting a bye week ahead of their makeup game with Butler that has the potential to have a major role in determining this year's KJCCC regular season champion.
After being ranked 10th last week, Butler falls four spot and occupies the number 14 ranking this week as the Grizzlies remain the only KJCCC team undefeated in conference play with two games remaining with both games coming at home against conference foes. Just behind BCC is Dodge City who holds their number 15 ranking from last week after suffering a one-point road loss at Coffeyville last week as the final two weeks of the regular season is still likely to have shakeups within the KJCCC standings.
Another four-game week this week will see all seven KJCCC teams in action this week as three of the four games being played will be conference matchups while the lone non-conference game will see Garden City head north for their final road game of the year with an 11 AM kickoff at Iowa Central. Both number three-ranked Hutchinson and Highland will come off a bye week last week to take on one another in a 12 PM kickoff at Gowans Stadium in Hutchinson while Independence will make the short trip across Montgomery County to play at number 10 Coffeyville in a 1 PM kickoff at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The final game of the day and lone evening kickoff will take place in El Dorado at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex with number 14 Butler hosting number 15 Dodge City as the Conquistadors look to end their regular season with a win while the Grizzlies look to remain in the driver's seat for a KJCCC regular season title.
