Hutchinson remains atop the poll for a third-straight week after having their first bye week of the season this past Saturday while seeing number two Iowa Western, number four Mississippi Gulf Coast and number five ranked Kilgore College all earn wins. Number three Snow College was also idle last week to keep the top-five the same as the prior week with none of the remaining ranked teams holding the same spot as one week ago. Joining the Blue Dragons in the rankings from the KJCCC is number eight Garden City with a three-spot jump following a 69-3 win over Ellsworth followed by number 12 Butler who moves up two spots after having their game with Coffeyville postponed due to lightning. After earning their highest ranking since joining the KJCCC last week, Highland falls five spots to number 13 following their 9-6 home defeat to Dodge City. Coffeyville and Dodge City are both receiving votes in the latest polls with the Red Ravens lone loss of the year coming to Garden City while Dodge City has dropped games to the Broncbusters and number two ranked Iowa Western.
With the latest poll being released, six of the seven teams from the KJCCC are either ranked or receiving votes this week to be one of two conferences to have six teams ranked or receiving votes (Mississippi Association Of Community Colleges Conference). The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has two of their three teams ranked or receiving votes along with the Southwest Junior College Football Conference having two of their eight teams ranked as no other conference has more than one team ranked. Of the seven independent teams not affiliated with a conference, two are ranked with both ranked in the top six (Snow College, Georgia Military).
