In a week of fierce competition, Geesing continued to stand
tall for Seward, helping them to a 3-2 week that included a
2nd place finish at the Ozfest Invitational. She averaged
3.47 kills and 2.35 digs per game on the week. In a
conference win over Dodge City, the sophomore outside hitter
hammered home a career high 20 kills and followed that up
later in the day with a 12 kills, 11 dig double-double
against Vernon. Saturday against 17-8 Frank Phillips she
had 9 kills and a career high 17 digs in a Seward win. In
her final match of the week, Geesing posted 10 kills against
the #1 team in the country Western Nebraska.

De Barros, a sophomore setter from Sao Paulo, Brazil,
recorded another remarkable week for the Lady Cougars
directing the offense on the way to dishing out 110 assists,
a 10 assist/set average. A first team member of last year’s
Jayhawk West All-Conference team and Barton’s reigning
Region VI Championship team, de Barros has been integral in
leading the No. 18 ranked Lady Cougars to a 15-6 record on
the season including an undefeated 8-0 in conference play
