For the second straight week Kawanise Wilkins was a workhorse for the Barton Cougars averaging a double-double in a pair of conference games. Scoring twenty and grabbing eight of his career high sixteen rebounds on the offense glass on Wednesday, Wilkins followed with a sixteen point thirteen rebound effort in Saturday's road win. Shooting 41% from the floor, the duel threat also knocked down 3-of-6 behind the arc while sinking 9-of-11 from the charity stripe.
Johnson County Community College freshman forward Xavier Womack had an impressive week. He averaged 17 points and 8.3 rebounds and shot 58 percent from the field and 83 percent at the line. In the Cavaliers win over Washburn JV on Saturday afternoon, Womack set new season highs with 30 points and 16 rebounds.
Kashawn Charles, Labette, averaged 20.5 ppg in the inaugural year of the Labette Classic. He also added six rebounds and five steal in the tournament's opening game. Charles is committed to Eastern Illinois.
