KJCCC D-I Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Week 7
Dodge City split a pair of games coming out of the holiday break getting back to action with a win at home over Independence and then suffered a tough road loss to Colby. BJ Freeman continued his stellar freshman season leading the Conquistadors in scoring in both games. Against Indy, Freeman finished with 24 points on 9 of 18 shooting and went 5 of 7 from the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocked shots. The freshman followed that up with a career-high 36 points on 12 of 22 shooting, with five made 3-pointers and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line against No. 21 Colby. His 36 points is a career-high.
For the season, Freeman is averaging 13.8 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting and 35.4 percent from 3-point range, while adding 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
