KJCCC DIV. I MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 5
Tahjae Hill, the Butler Grizzlies 6-foot-44 guard from Hilton, New York, was a key piece in the Grizzlies' two wins this past week. Against No. 11-ranked Coffeyville, Hill was the spark the Grizzlies needed to big up a big road victory. Things weren't looking good for the Grizzlies as they were down by 14 points in the half and were in desperate need of some offense. Hill, has been the Grizzlies sixth man all season, was just what the Grizzlies needed. Hill dropped in almost all of his 20 points in the contest in the second half and he willed the Grizzlies back into the game, and eventually to the win. His 20-point total in the game was his best scoring mark of the season and led all Grizzlies en route to a huge victory over their 11th-ranked rival Coffeyville. Hill also had six rebounds in the contest which was his best mark of the season prior to the Hutchinson game. Against Hutchinson, Hill took a step back from the scoring action and was more effective on the defensive end. Hill still put in a respectable 10 points which was third among all Grizzlies in the game. Hill had four steals in the game, which were his most in a game this season. Hill also had a big night on the glass as he pulled in eight rebounds which is most in a game this season. Hill has been a big piece for the Grizzlies who have now won four straight games to improve to 10-2 on the year and now 4-2 in conference play.
Others Nominated: Joseph Locandro, Barton; Jason Edwards, Dodge City.
