KJCCC DIV. I MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 13
Dodge City men's basketball team made it five wins in a row beating No. 16 Butler and Hutchinson last week. Jason Edwards continued put on a show for the Conquistadors with his play helping lead the Conqs and was named the KJCCC Men's Division I Player of the Week for the second time this season.
In the win over Butle,r Edwards hit the game-winning shot with 3.8 seconds left in the contest and finished with 25 points on 10 of 20 shooting adding three rebounds, one assist and four steals. He followed that up with a career-high 38 points on 13 of 23 shooting including 6 of 10 3-pointers in win over Hutchinson on the road and added six rebounds and eight assists.
For the season, Edwards is averaging 22.6 points per game on 50 percent shooting and is shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range, while adding 3.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He ranks fifth in points scored in the nation with 564 which is also eighth most in a single season in school history, while he ranks 10th in points per game in the nation and seventh in field goals made (196) which is ninth most in a single season in school history.
