KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 11
COLBY, Kan. – A career week for Barton Community College sophomore Keandre Kindell along with a road double-double performance for Johnson County’s Brandon Mann has led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Week 11 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Keandre Kindell – Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Sophomore guard Keandre Kindell averaged 27.5 points and shot 64.3 percent from the field helping the Cougars to a 2-0 week. Scoring seven points before being saddled with first-half foul trouble, Kindell provided a strong second-half performance by adding 17 points for a new career-high 26 points on eight-of-12 shooting, seven-of-eight from the free throw line, and dished out a game-high five assists with a pair of steals in the upset win at number 23 Hutchinson. Kindell concluded his week with his second career-high performance of the week rewriting with a game-high 31 points going 10-of-16 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 at the line in taking over the conference's top percentage at the charity stripe in the win over Garden City.
Brandon Mann – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Johnson County sophomore forward Brandon Mann was the top scorer for the Cavaliers in his team's two conference victories last week. In Wednesday night's 72-60 win at Allen, Mann scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. The sophomore followed by pouring in 20 points in a 92-57 home win over Labette. Against the Cardinals, Mann went eight-of-eight shooting and was four-of-five at the charity stripe.
