KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 12
COLBY, Kan. – Fresh faces mark their first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors of the season as Colby Community College freshman Eternity Eguagie and Johnson County Community College freshman Gavin Harvey are the week 12 selections of the 2024-25 season.
Eternity Eguagie – Colby (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week) Eternity Eguagie averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last week as Colby went 1-1 with a 65-63 loss to Hutchinson before bouncing back with an 82-81 double overtime win over Garden City. In the game against the Blue Dragons, Eguagie had 13 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor (six-for-11). Eguagie then scored 24 points and hauled in eight rebounds while being tasked with guarding Antonio Chol, the third leading scorer in the KJCCC this season and limiting him to 19 points while turning in a 24-point, eight rebound performance of his own to lead the Trojans to victory.
Gavin Harvey – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week) Johnson County freshman guard Gavin Harvey was a key player in helping lead number 10 Johnson County to a pair of conference wins last week. On Wednesday night at Fort Scott Harvey poured in 19 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists in a 90-77 victory. On Saturday, Harvey accomplished something that had only been done four times in program history by recording a 10 point, 10 rebound, 13 assists triple-double to lead JCCC to a 77-62 win over Hesston. His 13 assists is tied for ninth all-time on Johnson County's single game chart.
