KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 13
COLBY, Kan. – Leading their teams to unbeaten weeks in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play last week, Garden City Community College sophomore Antonio Chol and Allen Community College sophomore Tyler Pinder have earned KJCCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades for week 13.
Antonio Chol – Garden City (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Chol had a big week for the Broncbusters, leading Garden City to a pair of wins which included a road victory at previously number 10 ranked Coffeyville Community College to close out the week. After opening the week with a 99-94 win over Independence that saw the sophomore score 23 points on 10-for-22 shooting from the field to go along with nine rebounds and four assists, Chol had a 22-point outing against the Red Ravens to lead GCCC to a 93-79 upset win while adding another nine rebounds in the victory.
Tyler Pinder – Allen (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Pinder helped Allen pick up wins in both of their games last week, defeating Fort Scott and Hesston on the road. Against the Greyhounds, Pinder scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out six assists to go along with two steals before following up his performance three days later against Hesston where the sophomore scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out another six assists. In 13 games this season, Pinder is averaging nearly 16 points per contest and is the second-highest scorer in the KJCCC in conference-only games with a 16.9 per game average to go along with 4.2 assists per game and 4.4 rebounds per contest.
