KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 16
COLBY, Kan. – Strong weeks for Barton Community College guard Keandre Kindell and Kansas City Kansas Community College guard BJ Stewart have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Keandre Kindell – Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Keandre Kindell turned in an all-around week for the number 16 Cougars by averaging 22 points on 55.6 percent shooting while dishing out 6.5 assists and hauling in five rebounds and 2.0 steals per game over two games. Kindell opened the week by turning in a 16-point performance in a win over Colby while dishing out a game-high six assists with three rebounds and two steals. Capping the week on the road at Independence, Kindell led five Cougars in double figures with 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting to go along with a game-high seven assists and seven rebounds in a road win over the Pirates.
BJ Stewart – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
BJ Stewart helped Kansas City Kansas go 2-0 in their final week of the regular season to wrap up a second-place finish in the KJCCC regular season standings as the sophomore averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game. Stewart finished the regular season leading the conference in points per game (16.6) and ranked fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (6.9).
