KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 17
COLBY, Kan. – A massive double-double in the regular season finale, capped off by a game-winning go-ahead bucket has led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for Butler Community College forward Emeka Opurum.
Emeka Opurum – Butler (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Opurum led Butler to a win over the fifth-ranked Cowley Tigers on Wednesday night in El Dorado to close out the regular season. The freshman finished with a massive double-double of 18 points and 19 rebounds, also blocking two shots. He was 8-14 from the field in 33 minutes played. Opurum converted on a layup with 3 seconds remaining in the game, plus a foul to help the Grizzlies get the win over the KJCCC regular season champions.
