KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – Combining to average nearly 26 points per game last week, Pratt Community College’s Hunter Vaughn and Neosho County’s Michael Doria have been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week following their performances throughout week seven of the 2024-25 season.
Hunter Vaughn – Pratt (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Vaughn played a pivotal role in the Beavers three game winning streak to end the fall semester which included two wins last week over Northwest Kansas foes Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Colby Community College. For the week, Vaughn played 77 out of a possible 80 minutes and averaged 22.0 points per game. Against Fort Hays Tech Northwest, the freshman finished the night with a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists before scoring 24 points and grabbing five rebounds in an 89-88 victory over Colby to get Pratt back above .500 in conference play with a 4-3 record in the KJCCC.
Michael Doria – Neosho County (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Doria scored 33 points and shot 68 percent from the floor to lead Neosho County in their only game of the week last week against Bethel College JV. The break-out performance for the sophomore saw the Frontenac, Kansas native post his fifth game this season in double-figures and surpass his previous season high of 13 points with his best outing of the year.
