NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Week 1 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Week 1 Poll

CHARLOTTE, NC – Two weeks worth of results has led to shuffling and changes among the NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Men’s Basketball top 25 polls with five Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools ranked and another three schools receiving votes in the week one polls released on Tuesday, November 12th.

Barton Community College is once again the highest-ranked KJCCC team in either of the two polls with the Cougars maintaining their number two ranking behind only South Plains College as the two teams combined to go 6-0 over the opening two weeks of action. In one of the biggest changes to either poll, Butler Community College moved from unranked all the way into the top 10 by checking in at number eight following a 5-0 start which includes a win over number 10 ranked Indian Hills on the road as the Grizzlies are one of three teams in the rankings to be undefeated after five games before the release of the rankings. The next highest-ranked KJCCC team in the NJCAA Division 1 poll is Hutchinson Community College as the Blue Dragons stay 15th following a 3-0 start to their season with three home wins while Cowley, Coffeyville, and Garden City are all receiving votes among a list of 21 additional schools who received consideration by voters.

The NJCAA Division 2 Top 25 poll saw minor changes for two KJCCC teams with Johnson County Community College leading the way and making a two-spot move up the rankings from their preseason ranking to check in at number 13 this week after getting out to a 3-1 start with all three wins coming at home. Kansas City Kansas Community College also made a two-spot improvement from their preseason ranking to be ranked number 22 this week as the Blue Devils sport a 3-1 overall record with their lone loss coming to number four ranked North Central Missouri College. 

A busy week of action across the conference began with three games on Monday evening as 47 games will be played across the conference this week with games taking place every day but Thursday. Of the 47 games, 29 will take place over the weekend between Friday and Sunday as this week serves as the final week for Division 1 schools prior to the start of KJCCC action beginning next week for the league’s 13 D1 teams.
